Little girl called Loneliness
There's a little girl called loneliness
hiding in my heart
she's a fairytale, a butterfly,
a candle in the dark
she is soft beneath my armor
she is scared beneath my strength
she is standing at the window singing
"love come back again"
we've gone too long
we tried too hard
we feel ashamed
of what we are
somehow we forgot the simple things
like walking hand and hand
somehow we became
strangers again
--------------
There's a little bird with wings of white
deep inside my soul
the memory of my freedom flies
outside these prison walls
and she's laughing at my slavery
and she's singing of my strength
she is perched upon the window
she says "love's come back again"
you've gone to long
you tried too hard
you feel ashamed
of what you are
somehow you forgot the simple things
like walking hand and hand
somehow you became
strangers again
------------------
There's a little seed of harmony
I planted in the dark
a dream of how my life could be
the flower of my heart
if I nurture her with kindness
if I water her with tears
feel the pain, dance in the rain
I'll bloom beyond these fears
it's been so long
I'll try again
why feel ashamed
of what I am
oh but how I miss the simple things
like walking hand and hand
don't let me be a
stranger again
